• Thanks to John McGill for sending me this video of an interview with Shirin Ebadi.  In it she tells of how she has been treated in the wake of receiving her Nobel Peace Prize and on the eve of the trial of the 7  Bahá’ís accused of espionage for Israel, whom she is representing.

Shirin Ebadi is a hero for me. Even though she is not a Bahá’í she is risking her life for them and is doing what she can to fight against the prejudice and suffering of Bahá’ís, women, and other groups the Iranian government discriminates against.  She is a model to all of us of someone who can look beyond the boundaries of religion and serve humankind as a whole.
